WEDJ Lab Pack Hazardous Waste Container MFGR PART#  WEDJ-3 - Pack of 3.

The WEDJ Lab Pack Haz Mat Waste Container, WEDJ-3, is distributed by All Safety Products, Inc., a veteran-owned small business (VOSB). Container material is made from polyethylene.  The weight of each WEDJ (pronounced Wedge) container is 4 pounds empty, around 13 pounds full. The container dimensions (pie-shaped) are 18.25" at widest point, overall height is 9.42" and the overall depth is 9.08".

Three (3) WEDJ pack containers make up one container ring that fits within a 55 gal. drum. There are 3 rings of 3 WEDJ lab pack waste containers that make up 9 WEDJ waste containers total that fit within a 55 gallon drum,  The total (based on 4.5 gallons x 9) makes up about 40.5 gallons compared to about 20 gallons standard packing.

Not sure if Your Waste Material is Acceptable for use with WEDJ containers for disposal?
Per the manufacturer, in general, any material that WILL NOT dissolve High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is okay for use with Wedj Containers.  The seven categories below are the usual areas of waste items that HDPE containers are used for:
  • All granular products (dirt, sand, diatomaceous earth, aluminum oxide, powdered detergents, carbonates, etc.)
  • Liquid detergents undiluted and diluted with water.
  • All water based liquids, like diluted acids, bases, and solvents
  • All Oils (motor oil, transmission fluid, etc.)
  • Petroleum Products (Hexane, octane, etc.)
  • Glycols (anti-freeze)
  • All Alcohols (isopropyl alcohol, methanol, ethanol, butanol, etc.)
  • Acetone
Adequate space has been engineered in the container space to allow for an absorbent packing material such as such as vermiculite, which is usually added to the filled drum.

The WEDJ Container is not recommended for long-term use with undiluted stronger industrial solvents like DMSO and acetonitrile.  DO NOT use with chlorinated or fluorinated solvents like methylene chloride, trichloroethane (TCA), trichloroethylene (TCE), perchloroethylene (perc), and Freon.  Although this list is pretty thorough, if you're not sure whether the WEDJ container is okay for your particular use, please send us the information for the waste material you're disposing of and we'll inquire on your behalf and get back to you.

Established Patent Number for the WEDJ container is D829543.

WEDJ Container Dimensions.  Although listed at 5 gallons, it is recommended to keep the level for the WEDJ container at around 4.5 gallons per container.  The weight of a filled container (weight varies with density of material) is 4 lbs for the empty container and about 9 lbs per U.S. gallon of water so the total weight for each filled container is about 40 pounds.  So this would be about 360 pounds for 9 nested containers plus the weight of the drum.
